Operation Information & Post-Op Guidelines Surgery: Major Foot & Ankle Fusion - (ankle, sub talar, mid foot, TMT) HOSPITAL STAY DRESSINGS | Bandages | 14 Days | | Plaster | 6 Weeks | MOBILISATION | Elevate foot | 7 Days | | Crutches | 6 Weeks | | Touch weight bearing | 6 Weeks | | Cam Walker | 6 Weeks | WORK/DRIVING RECOVERY | Walking freely | ~12 Weeks | | Foot remains swollen | 16 Weeks | | Final result | 12 Weeks | | Ankle fusion patients continue to improve over a 12-18 month period | Take regular analgesia 4-6 hourly throughout Post-Operative period (14 days). Take 2 Panadol 1 hour before Post Op visit. These timeframes should be used as a guide only and may vary for individual patients based on the nature or extent of the actual surgery performed and individual circumstances.
