Operation Information & Post-Op Guidelines

Surgery: Major Foot & Ankle Fusion - (ankle, sub talar, mid foot, TMT)

HOSPITAL STAY
In Hospital 3 Days
DRESSINGS
Bandages 14 Days
Plaster 6 Weeks
MOBILISATION
Elevate foot 7 Days
Crutches 6 Weeks
Touch weight bearing 6 Weeks
Cam Walker 6 Weeks
WORK/DRIVING
NO driving ~4-8 Weeks
RECOVERY
Walking freely ~12 Weeks
Foot remains swollen 16 Weeks
Final result 12 Weeks
Ankle fusion patients continue to improve over a 12-18 month period

Take regular analgesia 4-6 hourly throughout Post-Operative period (14 days).

Take 2 Panadol 1 hour before Post Op visit.
